A journey into learning

I had an opportunity to present at IATEFL this year. It was a fantastic feeling to see many of the wonderful people I have known for a long time, but the real excitement was meeting face-to-face with some of the new friends I have made over this year on Twitter. In my presentation I spoke about the important role Twitter plays in providing a personalised learning and development platform that exceeds any pre-designed teacher development programmes by encouraging a personal, emotionally charged attitude to learning from each other. A great description of what PLN is and how Twitter can become an integral part of your professional development by @TEFLPet in a great interview on IATEFL Online I felt I didn’t do justice to the great feedback I got from my PLN, so here’s a summary of the tweets I received to my question about Twitter in their Professional Development. I used a Prezi to introduce my journey and describe the process which lead to me talking about PD and Twitter at this fantastic conference. I love Prezi and the fact that a bunch of Hungarians came up with it makes it all the more appealing. If you want to find out more and keep up to date about Prezi add their brilliant Blog to your RSS reader. Here are the slides of my Pecha Kucha attempt, too. I really enjoyed doing it – admittedly there is plenty of room for improvement, so bear with me.
